Producer: Working With AEROSMITH Is Harder Than Solving Middle East Problem
September 19, 2004AEROSMITH's "Aerosmith: You Gotta Move" TV special that first aired back in June is currently being mixed by producer Kevin Shirley (DREAM THEATER, IRON MAIDEN) for a DVD release.
Commented Shirley in a posting on his web site, "It's never easy working with [AEROSMITH], and actually it might be easier to find a solution to the Middle East problem, but the band sure is one of the best rock bands ever! I am in awe of [Steven] Tyler's performances and abilities, but he is one intense dude; and Joe [Perry] and Brad [Whitford] are on fire — well, everyone is... Joey [Kramer] and Tom [Hamilton] are rock solid — I love the music. Particularly loved 'Cryin'', 'Never Loved a Girl' and 'Dream On' from this set!"
As previously reported, the DVD is expected to include five songs that weren't included in the A&E special, as well as more behind-the-scenes footage. The two-hour "Aerosmith: You Gotta Move", which showed the band making their "Honkin' On Bobo" album and on tour this year with CHEAP TRICK, premiered on A&E on June 4. A tentative November release is expected.
